Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data Pace Driving School collects, how we use it, and your rights over it.

Who we are

Our website address is: https://pacedrive.co.uk.

What data we collect & store

General website visitors

When visitors leave comments we collect the data shown in the comments form, plus the visitor's IP address and browser user-agent string to help with spam detection. An anonymised hash of your email address may be sent to the Gravatar service to check whether you use it — see the Gravatar Privacy Policy. If your comment is approved, your profile picture becomes publicly visible alongside it.

If you upload images to the website, avoid uploading images that contain embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors can download and extract that location data from images on the site.

Store & checkout

We collect information about you during the checkout process on our store. While you browse, we track:

  • Products you've viewed — used to show you recently viewed items.
  • Location, IP address and browser type — used for estimating taxes and shipping.
  • Shipping address — so we can estimate shipping and send you your order.

We also use cookies to keep track of cart contents while you browse.

When you purchase from us we ask for your name, billing address, shipping address, email address, phone number, and payment details, plus optional account information such as a username and password. If you create an account, we store your name, address, email and phone number to pre-fill future checkouts.

How we use your data

We use the information we collect to:

  • Send you information about your account and orders.
  • Respond to your requests, including refunds and complaints.
  • Process payments and prevent fraud.
  • Set up and maintain your account.
  • Comply with legal obligations such as calculating taxes.
  • Improve our store and services.
  • Send you marketing messages, if you have chosen to receive them.

Cookies

If you leave a comment you may opt in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies for your convenience, so you don't have to re-enter them next time. These cookies last for one year.

When you visit our login page a temporary cookie is set to check whether your browser accepts cookies. It contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in we set cookies to save your login state and display preferences. Login cookies last two days; screen-options cookies last one year. Selecting "Remember Me" extends login persistence to two weeks. Logging out removes all login cookies.

When you edit or publish an article an additional cookie stores the post ID of that article. It contains no personal data and expires after one day.

Embedded content from other websites

Pages on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles). Embedded content from other websites behaves exactly as if you had visited those sites directly — they may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with the content, including if you have an account and are logged in.

Who on our team has access

Members of our team have access to the information you provide us. Administrators and Shop Managers can access order information (what was purchased, when, and where it should be sent) and customer information (name, email address, billing and shipping details). This access is used to fulfil orders, process refunds, and provide support.

Who we share your data with

We share information with third parties who help us provide our services:

Payments

We accept payments through PayPal. When processing a payment, relevant data — including the purchase total and billing information — is passed to PayPal. Please see the PayPal Privacy Policy for full details.

Password resets

If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.

Spam detection

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely so we can recognise and auto-approve follow-up comments rather than holding them in a moderation queue.

Order information — including your name, email address, and billing and shipping addresses — is retained for tax and accounting purposes in line with applicable legal requirements.

For users who register on our website, we store the personal information provided in their user profile. All users can view, edit or delete their personal information at any time (except their username). Website administrators can also view and edit that information.

We also store comments or reviews you choose to leave.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site or have left comments, you can request an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where your data is sent

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service. Payment data is processed by PayPal as described above.
